😔This weekend was a real struggle. Even coaches, competitors and nutritionists fall off the nutrition and exercise plan friends. 🍷Like many of you, this usually starts with an innocent drink, appetizer, meeting up with friends or in my case... a tough personal event/conflict 🙈 My "cheat" triggers are almost always as a result of stress. This weekend I finally stood up to my dad in a specific area and shared how 1) How he was treating the family not OK and 2) I wouldn't be accepting this behavior going forward. As you can expect from an old school, 70yr old formally successful man, I was met with heavy deflection and limited accountability. 🤑 The funny thing about massive failure followed by success is your tolerance for disrespect, lack of honor or missing integrity goes to near zero. In this case, my previous bar of acceptance is raised. Does this mean I don't fail anymore... Definitely do.. like this weekend. I had a plan to be under 215lbs by Sunday and was well on my way with excellent discipline, process, drive and focus. This was thrown out the window after a scrap with my dad, another Bumble date bailed last minute and some friends in town looking to hang. I drank too much tequila, ate crap, then more crap on the hangover day yesterday and I'm 226lbs this morning. 10 pounds heavier than my goal. Of course that's water not fat however, this will take me a week to get back to 215. Consuequences... When this happens, I won't go to my regular gym and force myself to cardio 1 hour a day, 1 hour of weights with my shitty home free weights until I get back down to 215. I hate working out at home.. hate it. This will be my punishment. More importantly, the way to truly succeed and not let this happen again for 30 days is to get crystal clear on your goals. In this case, I re-wrote my monthly goals and built a new morning non-negotiable routine for my bathroom mirror and or fridge. Pretty tough to repair a problem without a rock solid plan. Today I have a better one and re-focused from scratch to emphasize the importance of investment. The secret to a next level physique and mindset... HARD FUCKING WORK, DISCIPLINE, REPETITION, PLANNING & above all ACCOUNTABILITY. Today I'm accountable.. how about you? Here is a copy of my revised morning routine.
